Private sale by owner. We bought this car used in 2009 when it had around 34,000 miles on it. We've since put on around another 230,000 miles and this car has been awesome. There have been no major problems with the engine, transmission, etc. There are a lot of minor issues that need to be fixed to varying degrees. We have bought another car and don't want to put any more money into this one. Includes snow tires- couple are bit worn, but should still be good for another season. Here are the issues that know of: The ball bearings in the left front wheel need to be fixed. This makes the car sound pretty loud when driven. The Toyota dealer is right down the street about mile from me and said it would be around $600-$700 to fix. It can be driven, but wouldn't recommend driving it for very long at risk of doing more damage. There is crack in the windshield. A rock hit it and the crack spread- not in the line of vision. The AC/heat kinda works. There was an issue with the saudering where some wires came off of the dash plate. I tried to fix it myself, but it didn't work, so as it is, the AC and heat kick on automatically when the outside temp reaches certain temps. I haven't figured out at what temps they come on, but when it's really hot the AC is just fine, when it's really cold, the heat is great. I've seen some used plates for limited Highlanders for around $250 on eBay. The passenger side door doesn't lock automatically. You can lock and unlock manually or with keysome areas of rust on the outside and lots of small scratches. There are also some small chips in the paint on front that are starting to oxidize. wear in leather seats and carpeting. The hemming on the front driver seat has come loose bit. Still feels fine.
